On this side we would like
to give you a small everyday life view of living together with
Bjenna. As already mentions, the Owvzarek Podhalanski is inclined somewhat to
the stubbornness. In order to be able to live thus harmoniously with
her, that means that you must be a little bit more stubborn if necessary. But, just read yourself:
With Bjennas introduction in our household
we had to separate from some dear-become habits, because she had
her very own view of certain things such as order or design and
was quite anxious to also implement exactly these conceptions.
So we needed to redefine a lot of things, for example the terms of cleanliness, it is
in-turned a certain generosity regarding sand or also dog hair
opposite.
The picture on the left side you might know from the picture side,
it is Bjennas application photo..., so small and
innocently...... that was the way she was introduced to us. |

Bjenna intervened in our
garden design also. Not that we had before already an English lawn,
but already alone the idea of it she would have destroyed very soon. Where before times our lawns were characterized
by mole hills, these are missing with us in the meantime
completely.
The mole hills were replaced with a lot of little digging holes, not all, but most of them by Bjenna.
But also the flower patches will
improve regularly transformed, since she pleases rarely our kind of
the planting. If Bjenna thinks, there could be a better way of garden design, she starts and, if necessary in her eyes, thereby
she converted and/or removed whole bushes.
To her joy our garden has a little hill, from which she observes gladly everything in almost majestic
way, what in her district does in such a way, in order to intervene
if necessary.
To our luck are our neigbours either far enough away or very
tolerant, because, as it is typical for a Podhalan Sheepdog, she likes barking very much, especially in the evening or
in the night... |
Like other puppies, Bjenna has a large measure of curiosity.
So new
things will be first sniffed at and examined for
their consistency. Unfortunately she only takes little consideration to hereditary pieces or
similar valuable things, in short: Order hold
is announced!

Bjenna with the garden work. As it should be
differently, that fork had lost to use only the wood handle
was still nothing more than fire wood. |
|
As we had to seperate from some habits, is our (much read) door bell now also almost
redundantly become, since hardly someone succeeds, property to be
entered, without the four-legged bell sounds. If we open then the
door, each visitor is barked at only once, naturally from being
entitled distance, (or also times quietly grumbeled). Only if she
considers the correct time, the foreigner friendly welcomed
whereby she then also after possibility her stroking units fetches. In many
specialized books you can read again and again that herd protection
dogs are rather averse from playing, is this behavior nevertheless
under their honour. Fortunately Bjenna (still?) hasn't read all these books
and likes playing day in, day out. |

The daily
rising becomes now, very the disappointment to Herrchen, also
somewhat differently, since their internal "I having hunger clock"
points out unmistakably that it is now time for feeding. If Frauchen
or Herrchen rose then finally, a clenched charge attacks of
dog joy, which is already times in addition able to upset one if one
has still no firm conditions... The topic clothes may not be missing naturally,
in particular black clothes seems to have a certain attraction for Bjenna and so it is nearly impossible to move along her without getting a tender of white fluff at the clothes. |
|
Although these
descriptions in the first moment may sound very
chaotic, but there are no regrets at any time buying a Podhalan Sheepdog. As we wrote before, the Podhalaner (like other herd protection dogs also) is not an all world dog.
So he is far away from which as something similar is to be expected as blind obedience, is a Podhalan Sheepdog the best, which could pass us ever.
Only quite if one, as we, which has large luck to be allowed to live
with two of these fantastic dogs. In short, to us applies:
Once a herd protection dog, always herd protection dog!
